Course Overview
This training course offers participants a comprehensive understanding of inclusive education practices. It covers modules on a wide array of topics, including child development and neurodivergence, speech and language, fine motor skills and sensory processing, behaviour management, IEP development and monitoring, social-emotional learning, as well as strategies for building numeracy and literacy skills.
The course bridges research and practice by equipping participants with evidence-based strategies. Participants will develop the competencies required to support diverse learners and to collaborate effectively within educational teams.

What will participants learn?
Module 1: Child Development
- Develop a clear conceptual understanding of theories related to children’s cognitive and social-emotional development.
- Identify red flags for specific neurodevelopmental disorders as well as related academic and social-emotional challenges.
Module 2: Speech and Language Skills
- Develop a conceptual understanding of speech and language development and related disorders.
- Apply practical strategies to help manage both speech and language difficulties in the classroom.
Module 3: Occupational Skills
- Develop a foundational understanding of occupational therapy’s key concepts, including sensory processing and motor skill development.
- Apply strategies to manage sensory processing challenges as well as meltdowns.
Module 4: Individualized Educational Plan (IEP)
- Learn about the key components of, develop, and monitor an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).
- Gain hands-on experience in writing grade-specific numeracy and literacy goals and objectives.
- Adapt teaching strategies and methods to support neurodivergent children based on those goals.
Module 5: Behaviour Management
- Gain foundational knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), including its history, core principles, and the ABC contingency framework.
- Learn how to conduct a functional behaviour assessment and implement a behavior intervention plan with emphasis on ethical practice, data-driven decision-making, and effective teaching strategies such as shaping and prompting while maintaining client dignity.
Module 6: Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)
- Understand the importance of SEL and how it contributes to students’ academic performance, learning, and development.
- Learn the core competencies of SEL — self-awareness, self-management, and social awareness — and apply evidence-based strategies.
Our Team
Our team brings together psychologists, speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, ABA and behaviour therapists, early childhood interventionists, and special education teachers. With their diverse expertise and shared commitment to inclusion, they ensure the training is both practical and compassionate. Participants benefit from real-world strategies, professional insight, and a supportive learning environment designed to build confidence and skills.
Course Details
The course consists of approximately 60 hours of instruction across 6 modules taught over approximately 40 sessions. Classes are planned to be held twice weekly, each class comprising two 90‑minute sessions with a 15–30 minute break in between.

You will learn practical techniques for classroom support, behavior regulation, and communication, as well as ways to collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and families to promote inclusion.
I currently work as a Teacher / Educator. Is this training beneficial for me?
Absolutely. This training will build your knowledge of inclusive education frameworks and help you apply research‑informed practices to meet the needs of all learners. You will gain skills in classroom adaptation and positive behavior support, empowering you to create learning environments where neurodivergent students can thrive academically and socially.
I currently work as a Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCO). Is this course beneficial for me?
Yes. The course will deepen your understanding of neurodevelopmental conditions and enhance your capacity to lead inclusive practices across your school or organization. You will develop skills in current evidence‑based approaches. This will enable you to provide effective guidance to teachers, support staff, and families.
I’m a parent or caregiver of a neurodivergent child. Is this training beneficial for me?
Yes. The course will help you gain a deeper understanding of your child’s learning and behaviour through the lens of neurodiversity. You will learn evidence‑based strategies to support communication, learning, and emotional regulation at home, plus practical tools to advocate for your child’s needs and collaborate effectively with educators and professionals.
Will we be provided any learning materials?
Yes, each participant will be provided their own copy of the learning materials utilized in the training.
All course materials and content are the property of THRIVE HEALTH and provided for personal learning only. Unauthorized copying or distribution is prohibited. Taking photographs or making recordings during classes is prohibited.
How will my learning be assessed?
Your learning will be assessed through a combination of tests and practical tasks at the end of each module. Each module focuses on a different topic related to neurodiversity and inclusive education, allowing you to demonstrate your understanding progressively.

- Practical tasks help you apply these concepts to real‑world scenarios such as classroom strategies, behavior support plans, or communication techniques.
This approach ensures you build theoretical knowledge and practical skills you can immediately apply in your professional or caregiving role.
If I do not successfully complete all assessments, will I still get my certification?
To maintain the integrity of the certification, it is only issued upon successful completion of all assessments. Certification is not merely participation, but an attestation that the candidate has acquired the required knowledge and skills. By maintaining this integrity, the certification enhances its value for successful participants.
What happens if I’m unable to attend some classes?
While there are no penalties for absences, non‑attendance is highly discouraged as it can seriously impact your chances of gaining the knowledge and skills required to be successful on the assessments. You may wish to obtain notes from a reliable classmate for any missed sessions.
What happens if I miss one of the assessments?
Each module’s assessment must be successfully taken to be eligible for certification. If you miss an assessment, please contact us for a suitable solution. If an appointment has to be scheduled outside regular classes, a fee may be charged.
Can I attend online?
Classes are designed to maximize learning through interactive methods best delivered via an in‑person classroom setting. There is no online option.
Can I cancel my registration during the classes?
If exceptional and unforeseen circumstances prevent continued attendance, we may offer the opportunity to attend sessions when offered again in future, subject to capacity constraints and an additional fee to be determined by us.
The cost of the course seems high. Why?
This one‑of‑a‑kind course has been developed by a multi‑disciplinary team of experienced experts. It is designed to be highly practical and relevant. We anticipate that practitioners will gain knowledge and skills whose value will far exceed the investment required.
